What is Placer Bus Group?
Placer Bus Group is a volunteer, parent-run cooperative providing bus transportation from Lake of the Pines, Auburn, Rocklin and Roseville, CA to Jesuit and St Francis Catholic High Schools in Sacramento, CA.
How many buses do you operate?
We operate only one bus and are not planning to add additional capacity anytime soon.
How do I contact the Placer Bus Group?

Will my child receive a pass for the bus?
Yes. Your child will receive a colored sticker that should be put onto their high school identification card. The sticker color will correspond to the type of service and the year of service.
How will the bus communicate with riders and families of riders?
The primary form of communication that is used by the Placer Bus Group is our Instagram account @placerbusgrp. We will also send informative emails from placerbusgrppresident@gmail.com, post announcements on the website, post information on the white board on the bus and our driver will announce the changes to the riders.
Why can't I get a live person when I call your phone number?
Placer Bus Group is managed by a group of dedicated volunteers that each have employment outside of the bus group thus, our phone number forwards to voicemail. We try to respond to all voicemails within two days. Emails receive the fastest response.
How can I volunteer my time to serve the Placer Bus Group?

I am not getting the Placer Bus Group emails, why not?
First, email us at admin@placerbusgroup.com to confirm that we have your email listed correctly, we will send a confirmation to you. If you still are not getting our emails, you may want to check your spam filter setting, often that may be the cause of your problem. Please make sure that admin@placerbusgroup.com and placerbusgrppresident@gmail.com are included in your address book and/or spam whitelist.
When and where does the bus pickup/drop off riders?

Where will the bus drop off my child at St. Francis and Jesuit?
The bus will drop off St Francis students in front of the school each day. The bus will drop off Jesuit students each day between the gym and the chapel.
Can my child park in the St Joseph Parish Parking lot in Auburn?
Yes. To park your car in the parking lot at St. Joseph's Catholic Church during the school day, you must provide the Placer Bus Group driver the following items on the first day of your ridership: 1. A photocopy of the student's California Driver's License; 2. A photocopy of the Insurance Certificate(s) for the car(s) that the student will park in the lot during the school day. The Placer Bus Group will forward this information to the Pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church per his request.
What information do I need to have handy to complete the registration form?
Parent Name, Address, Day Phone, Home Phone, Emergency/Cell Phone, Email Address, Student Name and Student Cell Phone, School and Grad Year, Medical Insurance Information, Credit Card Info.
Can I register early?
No, you must wait until registration opens to give everyone a chance.
How do I register my student for after school service from St. Francis to Jesuit for the Spring Sports season?
Registration for afternoon service to Jesuit for spring sports occurs in late January/early February. Seats will be granted on a first come, first served basis.
Do I have to have my account paid up to date to reregister my child for next year?
Yes.
What are the regular school year rider fees, when are they due and how do I pay?

How do I pay my registration fee with a check?
You can complete the online registration form and press the "Mail Payment" button. Please mail your check to Placer Bus Group, PO Box 7247, Auburn, CA 95604.
Will you be sending me a payment coupon book?
No.
What payment options does the bus group provide?
There are two payment options available to families, our secure merchant site, or mail a check to Placer Bus Group, PO Box 7247, Auburn, CA 95604. When registering you select the payment plan of your choice. Each family will receive an emailed invoice on the plan selected. The invoice will allow for a review and pay option and will take you directly to our secure merchant site.
Can I set up a recurring payment?
Yes, if you want to set up a recurring payment contact our bookkeeper at admin@placerbusgroup.com and they will send you the necessary form.
How do I correct or change my registration information?
Please email the new information to admin@placerbusgroup.com.
Can my child use the occasional rider program regularly in the afternoons without paying a registration fee?
Yes, the occasional rider program was developed for guests of regular riders. Usage restrictions for Occasional Riders during mornings and afternoons are as follows: An Occasional Rider Form must be presented to the driver each time transportation is requested; The form must be properly filled out and signed by the student and their parent/guardian; The rider must have exactly $10 to pay for the ride (no change given and no coins); If there is no room on the bus, the rider will not be permitted to board the bus. The Occasional Rider program may be suspended without prior notice at any time. Please be aware that a seat is not guaranteed.
My child goes to another school in Sacramento, can he/she ride the bus?
No, this service is currently limited to students of Jesuit and St Francis High Schools.
What happens if the bus breaks down?
Breakdowns occasionally happen and we will work to get the bus fixed quickly. As soon as we are aware of a problem, we will start the notification process by Instagram, email and notices on the website. Alternate transportation arrangements must be made by parents. We recommend that you have a plan in place before something happens.
Does the Placer Bus Group provide student field trip charter services?
Limited charters may be available on a not to interfere basis with the regular bus schedule. Please email us at placerbusgrptreasurer@gmail.com with the specifics of your request and we will get back to you with an answer.
